¨Opera y Flamenco¨ is the most seen Flamenco show in Barcelona. Thanks to it´s huge success with critics and audiences, it is truly a ¨cult¨ for those who are passionate about music and dance. Flamenco´s strong visual and opera´s harmony bring you a unique fusion that is used to tell the tormenting love story that ¨Opera y Flamenco¨ represent.
The cast, which has been kept for the past five years, has included outstanding figures of both dance and opera such as: Oscar Marin, who accompanied the great soprano Montserrat Caballe for many years; the dancers Katia Moro and Ivan Alcala, currently the most prized dancers in all of Catalunya and Sara Flores, a singer from Carmen Amaya´s family, an artist well known for her rich voice.
The staging pleases fans of every kind with a repertoire that includes the most famous opera arias by Bizet, Verdi Sorozábal amongst others. The show is centered around a love story between two dancers which is told through the souls of the loves, the tenor and the soprano. Their voices explain what the protagonists live, combining the strength and melody of the opera soundtrack with the sensual choreography of flamenco.
